dappled
much like
a robin's egg, you glitter
like snow under an effervescent moon
secrets holding fast in your
hefty core.
you, so small, so invincible, so unflinching
sparkling in the
last
afternoon
dregs
of the golden gossamer sun.
and i, at last,
forget my woes, and forget my insignificance
for you,
you are the universe in compact form.
a glittering galaxy that expands
and expands
and expands.
ethereal thing.
i see constellations abounding,
exploding
imploding
rocketing around and bouncing through your insides
and underneath your skin.
you, unruly meteor shower
you, with your speckled face.
you watch with silent suspicion as i
stoop down, polish you off
and behold your world,
you solid, bold, unbroken thing.
you hold yourself calm, like a patient sea
your weighty heart a tapestry
a golden, whispered, brazen breeze dares not unstir you, you
wave-maker, so wild and unruly
you
enigma.
hard, yet not unsoft, you cannot be
stone cold.
many see your face and find
nothing/nada/zilch.
oh, how foolish,
how many
worlds there are to be discovered in every one of your
specks and spots,
little rock.
